Room nine goes swimming

In the last to weeks room nine has been going to Huia Pool. It was very exciting to tons of the over two hundred children. I will give you some of the races and what they had to do. The first race was a walking race and they had to walk to one side. The next race they had to do was pushing a ball with your nose on the way to the other side. Then they did a flutter board race where the glided along the top of the pool. Next was the wheelbarrow race. They had two people and one person held the legs of the other person while the other one glided along the top. Last, but not least, the pyjama race where they swam to one side where their pyjamas were, got out of the water, put their pyjamas on, got back in and swam back.
Then they had the serious races, those were just the fun races. The serious races were from the three metre end to the shallow end. They were freestyle, and backstroke. Then they had play but if you were not deep water confident you would stay in the shallow end on the inflatable toys or in the free play area with flutter boards and balls.
